The Town of Matthews is developing a pedestrian plan funded in part by the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) Integrated Mobility Division (IMD). The plan is referred to as “Walk Matthews." Walk Matthews will identify gaps in pedestrian facilities, spotlight opportunities to advance multi-modal infrastructure, and propose actionable, near-term solutions to improve everyday walking conditions throughout the Town. The Plan will identify barriers to walking as well as areas for potential network expansion and connectivity, while maintaining a grounded view on the paths to funding and implementation.
